Verse is a desktop-first church media presentation app made by Penstack — a small team based between Lagos and remote. We build for the volunteer in the AV booth, not the slide deck on a sales call.
Mission
Make Sunday presentation predictable. A pastor should be able to switch translations mid-sermon without anyone running to the WAP. A projection volunteer should be able to clock in on Sunday morning and run a service with no surprises since rehearsal. Verse exists because we kept watching that fail in churches we’ve served in.
Why offline-first
Most presentation software was built for a world where the network is always there. That world isn’t Sunday morning. We treat the local desktop as the system of record during a service — every translation, every lyric, every cued slide already on disk before anything starts. The cloud is for billing, sync, and the admin console; it never sits between a presenter and the next slide.

The company
Penstack is the company behind Verse. We’re a product studio — small, founder-led, self-funded — focused on tools for ministries and the people who run them. Verse is our first publicly-released product; a couple of smaller internal tools predate it.
We bill in USD and NGN, ship on a cadence we can sustain, and won’t take on more partner churches than we can support well. If you’re evaluating Verse for an organisation that depends on it, we’d rather you talk to us first.
How we work
Sunday-first
The desktop app is the source of truth during a service. Everything else — billing, sync, the admin console — is a satellite around it.
Honest defaults
No dark patterns, no upsell modals mid-presentation, no telemetry the customer wouldn’t consent to in plain language.
Smaller surface area
Verse does scripture, lyrics, service planning, and multi-output well — and resists growing into ten adjacent products that dilute the first four.
Local-first by construction
A network outage on Sunday morning should be a backstage problem, not a stage problem. The renderer never reaches across the network mid-service.
